Hello! Teacher Lucy here.

I can’t wait to get to know you and have fun exploring English together, but first I will tell you a bit about myself. I grew up in 4 countries - Turkey, England, America, and Hong Kong. After completing both my Bachelor of Arts degree in Drama and my TEFL certificate in England, I moved back to Hong Kong to start my life as a teacher. Now, I am living in sunny Barcelona, Spain. It has been four wonderful years so far, and I have had the pleasure of teaching ages 2-56 in two different cultures.

I have worked at language academies, an online language school, an International Kindergarten and Nursery, and as a private tutor. Becoming a teacher was the best decision I ever made and I feel lucky to have found a lifelong career that allows me to share my experiences and love for the English language. As a teacher, I focus on the individual needs of my students and how they learn, so that I can find new ways to excite them about English. I have worked with many different curriculums and methods of teaching, from sensory play with two year olds to Cambridge Advanced exam classes, and I pride myself in my ability to adapt to each student.

In my free time, I love to experience new things and develop my skills. In Asia, I worked on achieving my advanced certificate in scuba diving. The ocean is a whole new world to discover! Having learnt to ski at the age of 3, I have always had an adventurous mindset that I love to bring into my classroom. Just because we aren’t outside, doesn’t mean we can’t explore! I believe the best way to learn is through activating your imagination and having fun.

Learning languages has always been a hobby for me, too. I can speak conversational French, and I am currently teaching myself sign language and Spanish. In Hong Kong, I picked up some Cantonese and Putonghua along the way. I am so excited to turn language learning into a hobby for your child.
